Plot :

Chow Yi (Gillian Chung) is about to leave on holiday with her boyfriend, Yang Pai Shu (Lawrence Chou) until an argument makes Chow Yi to dump him at the airport. Their breakup is being witnessed by her ex-boyfriend, Chan Kwan Ping (William Chan), who has just returned from overseas trip.
Waiting for his arrival is his current girlfriend, Dai Pui Si (Michelle Wai). Kwan Ping then offers his lift to bring Chow Yi back to the city. Upon knowing Chow Yi is homeless, jobless and friendless, he let her to stay in his place for two days, making Pui Si jealous. Can the ex-lovers reunite once again?

Plot :

Charlotte leads a double life: Her well paid job as doctor plus her family with husband and son constitute her official appearance. She works in lab, teaches students, kisses her child. Having sexual contact with random patients in a secret apartment remains her secret and the focus of the film's first part. The quiet German loves her husband but feels drawn to all kinds of men: One is particularly hairy, one penetrates her with his fingers, another weighs three times as much as herself, the next one breathes heavily and could be her grandfather. She speaks English and French in this movie and the audience needs a lot of serenity and patience to watch her being fucked and think and walk naked. What exactly is the conflict? Gender vs. norm, desire vs. convention? Sandra Hüller plays a middle aged upper class woman and has a quite ordinary face and body. Which is photographed nicely. Her intensity as actress belongs to the category of minimalism.

A surprisingly violent incident reveals the secret. The second part of the movie deals with the evaluation of her behavior by a psychologist. Charlotte and her handsome husband sit in the wide office of the therapist, but Charlotte refuses to explain and seems to be caught in a state of mental block. A court of medicinal law passes a verdict against the protagonist.

The third part of BROWNIAN MOVEMENT plays in India, where Charlotte's husband oversees a big construction while she has nothing to do particularly, except playing with her new twin baby sons. Instead of a climax and catharsis, the movie ends in a car ride in a desert.

The film's director might want us to start thinking about sexuality, intimacy, convention, bonds and gender roles. There is more than enough space in this movie, which fails to entertain. Space in the sense of luxuriously large rooms, labs, offices, apartments and wide angle camera lenses. The framing is very nice, geometrical and tripod driven. Each part of the film is introduced by an intense minute of spherical music. The rest of the film has next to no soundtrack.

The dramatic curve might feel unusual and makes me wonder how this film's producer managed to collect the funding for the project. The actual story would not take more than 10 to 20 minutes to tell. So the Berlinale Forum presents a feature film which might be cut down to a short film without discarding any major event.

The lenghty study of female sexual craving does not aim at being erotic nor pornographic. It is as random and meaningless as the movement of atoms. Strangely though, it is this kind of movie which one might remember for being strange, angular and unconventional outside Europe. The art factor and set design might be one reason for decision makers to fund and also select it for festivals.

Plot :

Set in the Norwegian boonies, Jannicke Systad Jacobsen's first fiction feature (based on Olaug Nilssen's 2005 novel) introduces its 15-year-old protagonist, Alma (Helene Bergsholm), with her hand down her pants, furiously coming as she listens to a phone-sex operator.
Yet the opening scene's promising boldness is soon undermined by cutaway shots of the family dog looking on puzzled at the frenzy of self-pleasure; like its title, Turn Me On, Dammit! is a jokey pseudo-provocation. Horny fantasist Alma becomes an outcast once she tells her friends that a crush "poked me with his dick" at a party.
When not asking audience members to figure out what's in Alma's head and what isn't, Systad Jacobsen, working with a cast of mostly first-time actors, reveals her strengths with the more fully conceived supporting characters. Ingrid (Beate Støfring), responsible for making Alma a pariah, has a great moment singing "Oh, Happy Day" at choir practice; the mean girl's sister, Sara (Malin Bjørhovde), writes letters to inmates on death row in Texas.
More of a symbol of frustrated, slandered teenage lust than an actual person, Alma—so pale she's almost translucent—is devoid of these specificities. When she runs away to Oslo for a day, I wished that she could travel back in time to another Scandi capital, Stockholm, to join the fully realized adolescent-girl misfits of Lukas Moodysson's 1998 Show Me Love.

15-year-old Alma (Helene Bergsholm) is consumed by her out-of-control hormones and fantasies that range from sweetly romantic images of Artur, the boyfriend she yearns for, to down-and-dirty daydreams about practically everybody she lays eyes on. Alma and her best friend Sara live in an insufferably boring little town in the hinterlands of Norway called Skoddeheimen, a place they loathe so much that every time their school bus passes the sign that names it, they routinely flip it off. After Alma has a stimulating yet awkward encounter with Artur, she makes the mistake of telling her incredulous friends, who ostracize her at school, until Sara can't even be seen with her. Sinopsis (review) :

Through the poster and even plot synopsis that Maverick Entertainment has released for Baja Beach Bums, the film seems like a sex comedy. This is very far from the truth though. It’s kind of hard to group it as it has dramatic elements, lighter humor, and takes a suspenseful and crime ridden turn. The film is better than I expected, but it does have problems deciding what it wants to be, hitting on each of these genres, but only hitting the surface of each one.

Brandt (Carver) has fallen in to depression after losing his job and his girlfriend. He feels he has nothing left and his attempts to get his old life back fail. So he goes on a vacation with his friend, T.K (Morrison), T.K.’s girlfriend, Mackenzie (Carradine) and a few of their other friends to Baja, Mexico. T.K and his friends have been going there every year for their New Years celebration. Brandt is just hoping to forget his miserable life for awhile. He soaks his sorrows in alcohol and is drunk and belligerent for most of the trip down there, getting them in some trouble with the locals. Once they get there Brandt is not too happy. They are in an unknown part on the maps and are camping out rather than staying in a hotel like Brandt imagined. He just wants to get home, but as there are no working phones around to call a cab and the trip back to town is lengthy and dangerous, he is stuck there for the time being. T.K. and the others try to show him a good time and he promises that if 24 hours from then if he still wants to go home, he will take him himself.

In the dark ‘80s, Sang-ho is wanted by the authorities for participating in the student movement.
